To reduce teen fatalities and injuries from motor vehicle crashes by developing safe driving habits through education and positive reinforcement.
Operation Click started in 1998 in Crystal Lake, IL with just three high schools. Before starting this program the Crystal Lake seat belt compliance rate was at 65%. Since the implementation of this program, seat belt compliance has increased to 96%, which is higher than the overall Illinois state average. In 2006 Operation Click added a fourth high school to the program. In 2009 Operation Click took a big step and expanded its program to reach twenty-one different high schools in the greater Chicagoland area.
Operation Click started out solely as a seat belt awareness program, but times and technology have been changing. Operation Click has realized that safe driving education should not only focus on the use of seat belts, but also include topics on texting and driving and driving sober.
Operation Click is always looking for people to join our team and help out. If you're interested in becoming a member, or would like any additional information on the program, please contact us today.
